I can't see how you can possibly think that the lack of a hop unit is not a problem.

It's not a problem because at 40m+ (the length of our warehouse range) the .20 BB's are still climbing. The velocity is around 320fps so it's not because the Sten is overpowered, we reckon .25's would be a good idea to bring the curve down.

My comments about Sgt. Heide being minted and buying the Viva was an attempt at humour......chill ;)

If you want to sell a stack, get down to the Caen game this weekend - I'd have one off you for starters!

Must admit I'd have gone for one if I saw it at Op Epsom

Better for my bank balance that you stay in the Balkans :)

I saw it on the wall of the Airsoft World stand at Beltring. I steered well clear just in case some of my cash accidentally fell in their till which would have obliged them to give an AGM Sten to me, in the interests of fairness.

Temptation and a weak will are terrible things at shows ...

I had a similar experience albeit I ended up actually not going to Beltring at all, having a new front exhaust section (complete with cat) fitted to my car last week was the incentive for that along with the impending MoT and road tax being due at the end of July. The gods were against me!

I'll be at OP Epsom with my AGM Sten. Found the culprit for my firing issues. The LIPO battery was Faulty.

I have a replacement and now its shooting like a dream.

The flickering candle of a solution to my Sten funding concerns has now appeared above my head. I have a deactivated 1945 dated GRI marked Ishapore SMLE No1 MkIII I can sell and put the proceeds towards a Sten. I shall be doing a little research to see what I can reasonably expect to get for it.

WWA have `60s dated ones for £249 so I would think you might be quids in with one dated `45. :good:

Mine cost me £210 including indian bayonet in 2006 from another re-enactor.

Mind you it was in shocking condition!

I picked mine up at Beltring in 2005 from York Guns for £145, it was absolutely hanging, of the furniture only the butt and front upper portion are the original I had to replace all the rest and re-blue the metalwork. Sounds like I could potentially get a good price for that then, a decent Li-Poly battery and charger could be covered too if I'm lucky. Cheers for the info fellas.

.....and where the hell has my signature disappeared to?! It should be showing up as I've got all my settings correct.

Aha! That would be why then! It's been a while since I last posted more than once and it used to put up sigs regardless.

I'm getting really pee'd off over on Arnie's, twice now people have posted threads on the release of the AGM Sten and on each occasion they've been locked and moved to the duplicate news folder. Pants I say, especially with the price difference between the AGM and the VIVA the AGM Sten should have a separate thread.

I wrote the following:-

For some strange reason two separate threads regarding the release of the AGM Sten Mk2 have been locked and put in the duplicate news folder after apparent confusion with the VIVA Sten Mk2 thread. They are made by different manufacturers and are considerably different in price, the AGM being £195 while the VIVA is around £350. We don't see every new M4 thread locked simply because TM first released an M4 donkey's years ago and I believe particularly here in the UK that the AGM Sten is a pretty important new release, important enough to warrant its own topic.

I am weak
Bought an AGM STEN at Op Epsom.
No safety no adjustable hop no fire selector welded by a blind kitten and makes a hell of a noise.

Love it :happydance:

One problem, other than the lipo (which is easy to deal with) Can't get my kings arms mid caps to fit.

Any clues to this, to those few who have them at the mo'?

Cheers.

I bought a box of king arms mids, one of the five didn't want fit in my viva so I filed the hell out of it till it did.
